“Is it wrong to be dating a person when both of you know it’s not gonna work out? Like we really like being together but at the end of the year we’re both moving away. We’ve accepted this as well as the fact that we’re both going to move on. But is what we have no just a lie, then? Help!”

Dannielle Says:

I don’t EVER think it’s wrong to date someone you like… regardless of circumstances.

I mean, the fact of the matter is, we’re all going to be in relationships with people who mean a lot to us. Whether it’s for 5 months while you’re in college or 4 years while you’re a lawyer or 3 weeks over the summer, it’s going to happen and some of them are going to end. It sucks, but it’s true and we all get into relationships knowing this is a possibility. Remember in A WALK TO REMEMBER STARRING MANDY MOORE, they were in love and she was totally dying, but he was like ‘i love you forever’ or something and they totally stayed together regardless of circumstances.

If the two of you want to be together right now, be together right now. Who cares about what is going to happen months from now? You have to enjoy life as it is handed to you and not spend it freaking out about possibilities. You know?

AAAAAND who knows, maybe something will drastically change and you’ll want to try out long distance… you can’t possibly know how you will feel in the future.

Kristin Says:

AGREE AGREE AGREE.

You should pretty much base all of your life decisions on movies starring Mandy Moore.

Also, let me tell you a secret: Even if you guys decide not date, you are still going to be like OMG I KNOW WE SAID WE WOULDN’T BUT COME SPOON ME JUST THIS ONCE, and then two days later the other person will be like OMG I KNOW WE SAID WE WOULDN’T BUT CAN YOU COME SEE HOW MY CAT IS HIDING UNDER THE BED AND THEN KISS ME FOR JUST A SECOND and then a week later you’ll be like OMG OMG OMG I CAN’T STAND TO WATCH THE VOICE WITHOUT YOU, PLEASE COME OVER AND LET’S MAKEOUT AHHHHHH.

So, honestly, you might as well just see each other and then either cry a bunch at the end of the year or try to stay together at the end of the year but have it not work and hurt your heart-bones or try to stay together at the end of the year and have it totally work and be in love… because that is what is going to happen ANYWAY, so why fight it?

Boom.
