“When is it okay to start calling your girlfriend your partner?”

-Question submitted by Anonymous

Dannielle Says:

When you are 87 years old #lifepartner

OR… when you play tennis together #doublespartner

OR… when you rob a bank together #partnerincrime

OR… when you open a cafe / book store together #businesspartner

Kristin Says:

OR WHEN YOU ARE COWBOYS #WILDWESTPARDNER

… for the record, I have totally used the word partner before - but it is generally in a context where I want to convey that I am a big ol’ lesbian as opposed to a straight lady who is going to the movies with her ‘girlfriend.’

I think you can say partner whenever the hell you want… though, if you just made out with someone one time and you are in line at the movies and say, “Can I have a ticket for myself and one for my partner,” they are probbbbbably going to sneak out the back door of the theater when you aren’t looking.
